Hi Friends,
I’m happy to share a talk I had with my friend and songwriter from Corinth, Mississippi, Cody Rogers. We talk about music, what it’s like growing up in small southern towns, southern accents, songwriting, the Dixie Mafia, pool shark preachers, fatherhood, and his new album Tishomingo.
I first met Cody (and his brother Jake) through their band Holy Ghost Electric Show. They opened for Water Liars (and me solo) a few times in Oxford, always leaving me with a glimmer of hope for the next generation of Mississippians making independent music. But more importantly, they are some of the nicest and most earnest folks involved in the music scene here.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Until next time,
AB
